Oiling the Pfaff Grand Quilter

It is very important that YOU, as the owner, know how to correctly oil your Pfaff Grand Quilter. You are working with a machine that runs up to 1600 stitches/min. The wear on the hook is very high, so it is important for you to oil the hook on a regular bases

Below you will find a few pictures on how to find the correct spot to oil.

This is the picture you would see if you turn your machine around and look straight into from the side.

Since most of you are not going to turn the machine around, I will show you how it will look when the machine is in front of you when you sit down to sew and look down at the hook.

It is probably time for you to take the stitch plate off your machine and clean between the feed dog rows anyway...so lets just do that also.

When the stitch plate is off and the needle is at it's highest position you will see the picture below

Now turn the handwheel in sewing direction until you see the picture below. You do not have to turn very much to see that. Look for the two points the red arrows are pointing at.

Once you see the picture above (the opening between the points) stop turning.  Notice where the blue arrow is pointing, this is where you need to put a drop of oil.

The rattling noise you heard before should now be gone. Your thread tension is much better again and possibly the thread breaking will also be gone.
